Dandelion
Media artist Seoyeon Lee has significantly expanded her creative practice in recent years and now uses diverse techniques such as data visualization, projection mapping and installation art to express her ideas. At the heart of her work is an exploration of the fragile nature of human memory, particularly in the context of the digital age.
In her exhibited work “Dandelion”, Lee collects photographs of real people and transforms them into pixel-like forms that are gradually dispersed and then reassembled into new, alienated images. With this work, Lee encourages viewers to reflect on the value and reliability of memories.
At a time when digital technologies such as deepfakes are advancing and increasingly influencing the way we remember the past, she addresses the merging of reality and fiction and asks the question: can we still trust our memories in the digital age?
