Diafanizado
In his latest project, media artist Elias Lopez explores the relationship between light and glass. A versatile artist, Lopez produces his own glass pieces and combines craftsmanship with modern media. Through his glassworks, he creates a unique foundation for experimental light installations.
In his current project “Diafanizado”, Lopez explores how different projections interact with the material glass. It becomes clear that the shape of the glass objects has a considerable influence on the light and the resulting visual effects. The thickness and texture of the glass in particular play a decisive role: depending on the structure and surface of the glass pieces, the projections are refracted, reflected or distorted, producing fascinating and often unexpected optical results. Through this profound exploration of light and material, Lopez challenges the understanding of visual perception and creates installations that influence the space and the viewer’s imagination in new ways.
