Bettina Pelz is the artistic director of GOLDSTUECKE Light Art Projects Gelsenkirchen since 2022.
EXPERTISE
As a curator, she has been developing and realizing art-in-context projects for public spaces since 1996. Since 1999, the focus of her research, development and curatorial practice has been on light and light-based media as a material for art.
She has been involved in international projects in Africa, Asia, Europe and North and Central America. She was founding curator of several sustainable light art projects in Europe and Africa, including LICHTROUTEN Luedenscheid (de) since 2002, GLOW Eindhoven (nl) from 2006 to 2009, NARRACJE Gdansk (pl) from 2009 to 2011, INTERFERENCE Tunis (tn) since 2016. Last year she curated the WATER LIGHT FESTIVAL Neustift / Novacella (it) for the first time.
